Theme: Tungo sa Kapaligirang Maharlika
Artists, writers and critical people can be a powerful force for change! MAWF’s 6TH SUNRISE FESTIVAL gives us the opportunity to express the artistic and creative ideas about our duties and responsibility to help heal the wounded environment, and the ways that individuals and groups can create avenues to discuss and contribute possible responses to environmental issues of today.
Format

The festival will be a three-day art event with the sole purpose of uplifting humanity through arts. The event will discuss how new technology and outlook are transforming artists and art communities into medium of social and cultural transformation.

The festival will formally start on November 27. This is the day to register, to set up tents, installation of exhibits, program orientation and cultural presentations in the evening.

Day 2, November 29 will be allotted for art workshops, multi faceted discussions about ecology and concert.

Cultural shows are half the part of the Sunrise Festival. There will be two Cultural shows: The first is set on the 27th evening where it would be freeform. The second will be on the Saturday evening where it would be open to public.

There will be exhibits for paintings, photos, digital arts and installations.

Build-up Activity

To drumbeat the 6th Sunrise Festival, MAWF will organize a series of activities to be held in different areas of Metro Manila as well as in CAR, Visayas and Mindanao.

3 “Kalimudan sa Ilalim ng Buwan” social gathering to promote the 6th Sunrise Festival. To be held tentatively in Mogwai, Conspiracy and Penguin.

Once a month “Street Performance” showcasing genre of arts to promote the 6th SUNRISE FESTIVAL

How to add ‘ BLISS ‘ to your life…..from Manila Go to Victory Liner Terminal closest to you. Buy ticket….board bus for 5 to 7 hour journey. Some tips while in transit : Don’t buy the ‘ special ‘ chicharon cuz it’s not, don’t watch the violent yucky films, drink plenty of water (hydrate) on your trip AND pee when necessary. Arriving in Baguio tell taxi ‘ Hotel Elizabeth, Gibraltar Road Please…’ Be surprised when you get exact change at destination… Walk into lobby….sit down at BLISS. Eat/Pray/Love…Bliss style Take Victory back to Manila Quit job, pack, farewell to friends and family…move to Baguio. Be happy everafter….and (oh) eat daily at BLISS. The end….
